1. Our Pledge to You
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you give to us on registration forms.
When students complete exercises on the Website, the Website gathers data anonymously. This data is stripped of individual user information and aggregated in an anonymous summary format for a number of purposes including further development of the website, generating articles and "whitepapers" to be published online, and leasing to outside parties for research/marketing purposes. We may also use this aggregate, non-personally identifiable information for other uses as we see fit; provided, however, that we will not reveal data about individual student performance or personally identifiable information.
We keep track of subscriptions that occur as a result of both parents and teachers using the Website. We use that information for business purposes such as internal accounting, planning and projections.
IP Addresses are automatically reported by your browser each time you view a web page. We may use IP addresses for various purposes, including: diagnosing or servicing technology problems reported by our users or engineers that are associated with the IP addresses controlled by a specific web company or ISP; tailoring advertising based on geographic area or other information derived from your IP address; reporting aggregate information derived from IP addresses to advertisers; or estimating the total number of users visiting the Website from specific geographical regions.
3. How We Share Information
The law permits us to share information about our current and former members with government agencies or authorized third parties under certain circumstances. For example, we may be required to share such information in response to subpoenas or to comply with certain laws.
4. How We Protect Information
We use physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your data and safeguard it from unauthorized individuals, as further described below. However, we can not guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, managerial, or technical safeguards.
Any credit card information you enter on our site is encrypted by an industry-standard protocol, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). We use SSL to communicate with secure browsers. These browsers encrypt your credit card, if you opt to pay the Vendor online, and personal information in a way that makes it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept and misuse while being transmitted between your computer and our server. If your browser is insecure, you will not be able to transact business through our Website.
We take appropriate precautions to protect the security and privacy of the information stored on our computer networks. Our systems are also housed in secure facilities, and access to your data by our employees and contractors is limited to a "need to know" basis, controlled by password protected systems, and monitored for abuse.
If we learn of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. We may post a notice on the Website if a security breach occurs. Depending on where you are located, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. If you wish to receive written notice of a security breach (or to withdraw your consent from receiving electronic notice), please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Once created, your account can only be accessed by user login. You are responsible for maintaining the integrity of your password. Your user account will allow you to control the access level for various users under your account.
